Spring Spacer Installation

We will start with the Back suspension. Start by blocking the wheels

Jack up the back of the vehicle, and support the frame by jack stands. Do not use the axle as a jacking point. Remove the wheel.

Disconnect the lower shock mount. For models with ABS, remember to free up the ABS wire so it doesn't get pulled on when the suspension is completely extended.

Undo these bolts to disconnect the lower shock mount.

Flex the suspension and remove the spring retaining plate. You may need to bounce on the axle a bit to get it out....

Clean the surfaces of the spring retaining plate and the mount on the axle.

Clean the surface prior to placing the spacer in position.

Line the holes of the spacer up with the axle mounting plate.

Replace the spring retaining plate. The one shown has been painted with red oxide.

Replace the spring. Now bolt the the retaining plate and spacer to the axle mounting plate.

Follow the same procedure for the front, bearing in mind that you will have to undo the shock mount (bottom only). Once the spacer, retaining plate and spring are in position, pass the shock through the centre hole on the spacer and secure in place.
